Hello, again! It appears that I’ve been away for quite a while. Sorry. I thought that, being retired, I’d have a lot of time for myself. Not true! I have been busy with a variety of things. Blah, blah, blah. On to the update:
Six months ago, my wife retired. Since then, we’ve been working on and brainstorming a variety of things, including how to improve this website. Since her Master’s degree is in IT, I thought I should pay attention.
Besides fixing food for my allergy-suffering family, the warm weather months are good times for me to be in my woodworking shop, also known as my garage. I’m also a musician who has performed with the local community orchestra a few times (I am most competent on the saxophone – classical saxophone – but there’s not a lot of compositions that use it. If you’re curious about classical saxophone, Maurice Ravel uses the tenor and soprano in Bolero, Modest Mussorgsky has a beautiful solo in his Pictures at an Exhibition, in “The Old Castle” movement. And so on, but I digress). During the school year, I am a substitute teacher focusing mainly on subbing for band and orchestra, but I’ve also done a bunch of other courses, from Kindergarten to advanced high school courses. Oh, and I’m writing a book. Yeah, I’m busy, but I’m back now.
We (my wife and I) have decided to make our website better. Personally, I prefer to just give safe recipes, but I acknowledge that some commentary might be helpful. I will always endeavor to keep my recipes brief and as commentary-free as possible.
I hope that this post will be my longest post. I know you don’t come to this site to read my stories about why I chose to do whatever – I respect you and your time. “Just the facts, ma’am” is my mantra (as a kid, I watched “Dragnet” a lot. A LOT), but transposed to “just the recipe”.
Stay tuned and happy cooking!
