Cajun Butter Steak Bites

Ingredients

For Cajun Seasoning

  • 1 T Paprika
  • ½ T Sea salt
  • ½ T Garlic powder
  • 1 t Onion powder
  • 1 t Chili powder
  • ¾ t Thyme
  • ½ t Oregano
  • ½ t Brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • ¼ t Cayenne pepper

For Steak

  • 2 lbs. Steak, cut into cubes (something tender like tenderloin, etc.)
  • 2 T Vegetable oil (divided)
  • ¼ cup Miyoko’s butter
  • 2 T Garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients for the Cajun seasoning in a medium sized bowl.
  2. Add the steak bites and toss to evenly coat.
  3. Heat 2 T oil in the electric skillet, on medium-high, until hot.
  4. Sear the steak bites in batches, 2-3 minutes each side, until the edges are crispy and browned.  Add extra oil as needed.  Set aside.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium.
  6. Add butter to the skillet and heat until melted.
  7. Sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds) while scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  8. Turn off the heat and add the steak bites back in.  Toss through the sauce to evenly coat.
  9. Serve warm.
