This a only a slightly revised recipe (see source at bottom). I include it for two reasons: 1) it is SO delicious and 2) others have asked to see the recipe. I take no credit for its creation, only my slight alteration and adoption.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Broccoli
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1½ t fresh minced ginger
  • 2 T water
  • 2 T miso paste
  • 1½ T soy sauce
  • 1½ t sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Trim the broccoli into bite sized florets.
  2. Steam for 3 minutes. The easiest way to do this is to plate the broccoli in a microwave bowl with 3 tablespoons of water. Top with a microwave plate and microwave on high for 3 minutes.
  3. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add in the vegetable oil, and when hot sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant, stirring constantly, about 15 seconds.
  5. Stir together the water, miso paste, soy sauce and sesame oil and pour into the skillet. Stir constantly for an additional 15 seconds, until slightly thickened.
  6. Add in the steamed broccoli, being careful not to add any of the water from the bowl into the skillet.
  7. Toss to coat.
  8. Serve.
  9. Eat.
